Our fees and refunds are explained in great detail below. Please have a read through and let us know of any questions via email at hello@thehappeningdance.com.

TUITION

Tuition is based on the full September to June season, as students are required to make a full season commitment to participate in progressive learning that culminates in a year end recital. The full season tuition fees listed below include a $100 + GST non-refundable deposit to hold the student’s place in class. This deposit secures your dancer’s placement in the class, and goes towards your yearly tuition. This deposit is taken as soon as you register, prior to the season starting. This deposit is not taken when you are on the waiting list, it is debited when you secure a spot in the class.

A 15% discount applies for all families with a cumulative enrolment in five or more classes.


FEES & CLASS RATES

  • Registration administration fee: $50 + GST per family (not per class)

  • Costume fee for the year-end recital: $120+ GST/class

  • Classes that run on Tuesday to Sunday = $904.50 +GST (option to pay in 3 instalments of $301.50)

  • Classes that run on Mondays (note, there is no make-up class for a stat holiday) = $768.82 +GST (option to pay in 3 instalments of $256.27)

  • Pointe classes = $452.25 +GST (option to pay in 3 instalments of $150.75)

  • 9-Week Semester Classes (Broadway, Creative Dance, Intro to Acro, Ballet & Acro, Adult Hip Hop)= $177.75 +GST per semester

  • Creative Play = $164.25 +GST per semester


SPRING BREAK AND SUMMER CAMP FEES

  • Spring Break Camp: $450 +GST

  • Summer Camp for Beginners Ages 4-7: $350 +GST 

  • Summer Camp for Beginners Ages 8-14: $350 +GST

  • Summer Camp for Intermediate/Advanced: Early Bird (before May 15th) $450 +GST, Regular Pricing $500 + GST

MODES OF PAYMENT

Payments can be made for the full season upfront, or in three scheduled instalments. By default, all accounts are set to PAY UPFRONT. Payment information (adding a credit card, changing to instalments) can be changed/entered through the Client Portal. The deadline to log in to the Parent Portal to change your payment preference is Sunday Aug 27th.

OPTION 1. Full Season Upfront (THE DEFAULT UNLESS YOU CHANGE IT IN THE CLIENT PORTAL )

NOTE: 9-Week Sessions and Summer Camp fees must be paid upfront; there is no payment plan available.

  • Registration fee, costume fee, and tuition fee are paid in full, in September.

  • For full-season-upfront payments we accept Credit Cards and e-cheque.

OPTION 2. Three Instalments 

  • Registration fee and costume fee are paid upfront in September.

  • Tuition fee is scheduled for three equal instalments on September 1st, December 1st and March 1st. 

  • For instalment payments we accept Credit Cards and e-cheque. 

NSF Charge

We will charge a $20 administration fee for each declined credit card or e-cheque payment.

REFUNDS FOR FULL SEASON CLASSES

The family registration administration fee of $50 + GST is non-refundable, with no exceptions.

Withdrawal from class due to medical reasons, accompanied by a doctor’s note, is eligible for full refund of tuition and costume fees, net any classes already attended, and withholding $100 + GST for the non-refundable registration deposit.

Withdrawal from class for other family reasons is eligible for partial refund based on the date of notification as set out in the table below:


REFUNDS FOR 9 WEEK SERIES

There are no refunds for 9 week series classes, apart from medical exemptions.

Withdrawal from class due to medical reasons, accompanied by a doctor’s note, will be eligible for full refund of tuition, net any classes already attended, and witholding a $50 plus GST cancellation charge.

Withdrawal from class for other reasons are not eligible for refunds.


REFUNDS FOR SPRING BREAK CAMP

  • 50% refund if requested by email to hello@thehappeningdance.com by Feb 20, 2023.

  • No refunds on or after Feb 21, 2023.

  • Missed classes due to reasons outside of The Happening Dance’s control (ie. vacation, moving, financial, illness, injury, etc.) are not the responsibility of The Happening Dance and will not be made up or refunded.


REFUNDS FOR SUMMER CAMPS

  • 50% refund if requested by email to hello@thehappeningdance.com by June 15, 2023.

  • No refunds on or after June 16, 2023.

  • Missed classes due to reasons outside of The Happening Dance’s control (ie. vacation, moving, financial, illness, injury, etc.) are not the responsibility of The Happening Dance and will not be made up or refunded.


REFUNDS FOR COMPETITION SOLOS/DUETS/TRIOS

  • All fees for competition solos/duets/trios are non refundable. This includes costume fees, competition fees, and rehearsal fees.


REFUNDS FOR PRE COMP & SHOWCASE TEAMS

  • All fees for Pre Comp and Showcase Teams are non refundable. This includes costume fees, competition fees, and rehearsal fees.
