For those born to perform…

We have four competitive teams at The Happening Dance called Pre Competitive, Junior Showcase, Intermediate Showcase, and Senior Showcase, and these showcase teams are audition-based.

Competitive Showcase and Pre Competitive Teams are audition-based.

Greater expectations are placed on these students in terms of time commitment (inside and outside of the studio), superior leadership qualities, and an increased desire to perform and work on a strong performance quality. Students are expected to practice regularly at home and to work on new material throughout the week. Competitive classes will cover more material than regular classes, and this level of commitment is essential for the group’s success.

Competitive dancers will be expected to attend more rehearsals and shows than our regular students, and not to miss any of their classes. Attendance is fundamental.

Practice consistently throughout the week in order to build dance technique and strengthen choreography

  • Exhibit leadership qualities; students are expected to set an example

Exhibit respect for the instructor through listening and responding to direction during regular classes as well as Showcase.
