Contemporary

Contemporary has become one of the most dominant forms of dance for professional dancers. It is constantly evolving; students will experiment with partnering, floor work, and creative tools, using all the techniques of dance in one class. This ever changing style of dance blends traditional technique from ballet and jazz, with a focus on expressing emotionality through movement and breath. Improvisation, versatility, and floor work are important elements of contemporary dance.

It is highly recommended, but not mandatory, to do one year of jazz or ballet before enrolling in contemporary class. This foundational technique will allow dancers to pick up choreography and progress faster.

You can wear comfortable, fitted, all black clothing that you feel amazing in for this class.
