Competitive Solos, Duets & Trios

Would your dancer like the opportunity to perform and compete with a solo, duet or trio? We'd love to see them shine!

Solos, duets and trios will be assigned 8 hours of rehearsals with a choreographer. They perform their routines at our company showcase EMBARK in February, and compete with their routines in 4 competitions, likely in March/April/May. 

Expectations in a competitive solo/duet/trio are as follows:

-Dancers are learning the routine during rehearsals with their choreographer, and reviewing on their own time

-Dancers are prepared for each rehearsal so that they are building NOT reviewing each session

-Cleaning notes must be applied between rehearsals

-Dancers need to practice their artistic expression and performance at each rehearsal

-Dancers must be available for specific Saturdays and Sundays during the season for rehearsals

-If a prop is needed for solos/duo/trios that is the responsibility of the parents to get that organized/found or built

-Dancers are expected to practice their routine every day, so that they are improving their technique, working on their emotional storytelling, and always adding layers and complexity to the routine

Time Commitment:

Dancers will be required to attend a minimum of 8 hours of rehearsal with their choreographer, and then practice every day on their own. They'll need to meet with their partners regularly as well and book extra studio time at The Happening in order to be ready for competition season. 

Receiving free studio space at The Happening is a bonus and a gift, but there are many places dancers can meet to go over their routine if they don’t receive studio space at The Happening.
